The legendary New York Cosmos team is reforming in style with new releases of the their classic kit by UK sportwear manufacturer Umbro. The all star football team which used to include football heroes such as Pele and Beckenbauer is reforming with Pele and Eric Cantona.
During their time in between 1971-1985 before unfortunately going out of business due Pele leaving the club and the general the decline of the North American Soccer League, the New York Cosmos won 5 national tournaments and the Transatlantic Cup 3 times.
Since the failure of the club there have been numerous attempts to reform and re-launch the club, unfortunately without success. However an announcement by the new Honorary president, Pele, in August 2010 marked the return of the Cosmos back to football.
Classic Football Clothing with a great heritage
In 1971, when the team founded, the colours green and yellow where chosen in a bid to attract Brazilian Footballer Pele over to the team in the United States. Purely by chance these colours were very similar to the New York Generals, which had recently collapsed at the end of the 1968 season.
