How to Find a Good Neck Tie
It can be hard work finding a good neck tie especially if you have no fashion sense like me. It is no good having a fashionable looking shirt if the tie does not do it justice because it would just look silly.
Like most things in life fashion change regularly. A few years ago the trend was to wear broad neck ties with a large knot. Nowadays it seems to have shifted towards a medium sized tie with a smaller knot.
Color can play a big part in whether the tie and shirt go together too. If you wear solid colors that match the shirt color then it may not be the best choice fashion wise. It can also limit the times that you can wear the tie as it may not go with everything in your wardrobe.
It may be an idea to try to pick out one main color from your shirt and then try to get a tie that matches this color. With this in mind a white and brown striped shirt may go well with a brown tie.
If you are wearing a shirt that has small pattern on it then maybe a tie with a larger pattern would look good.
Likewise if you had a shirt that was full of larger patterns then you would probably look better with a neck tie that had smaller patterns on it. It may also help if the trousers that you were wearing complimented the shirt and tie.
Another thing that needs careful attention too is the comparison between the neck tie and the collar of the shirt. If you had a shirt with a narrow collar then it would be wise to use a neck tie with a small knot. Likewise a broad collared shirt would look better with a larger knot on the neck tie.
