Tips on Mens Winter Clothing!

Tips on Mens Winter Clothing!

If you have recently shifted to a very cold place or are already living in such a place, you might not have an idea about how to choose winter clothing. Men sometimes end up stuffing their cupboards with lots of ‘very warm’ jackets, coats and sweaters, pullovers etc. without thinking much about other winter garments that are also essential to keep the body warm. They also do not know about mild clothing required for trans-seasonal usage like when winters just knock at the door. Winter accessories are also a neglected area for them. The result is that despite having so many winter clothes in cupboard, men end up either shivering with cold or feeling very hot due to excess winter garments. Here are some tips on men’s winter clothing- about how to choose and wear these garments to keep oneself at optimum comfort level.

Dress in Layers- How many layers should you make while dressing up should be decided by the extent of the cold weather. If it is only mildly cold, you can just wear a men’s sweater, particularly a vest or even a light cardigan over your shirt. If it is very cold, it would be good to wear a jacket over shirt or even a coat when going to formal events. If it is extremely cold then you should wear multiple layers such as a thermal wear and then shirt, sweater and overcoat. If that makes you uncomfortable, you can omit wearing thermal wear or sweater.

Keep Your Lower Body Parts Warm- You wear a lot of winter garments but not for legs. So, choose pants made with solid fabrics like weighted denims, corduroys, twill fabric etc. These pants will take care of keeping you warm as a whole. Always check whether there is flannel lining in these pants. Layers always protect better howsoever thin they might be. Wear cotton socks to completely keep the cold away from you.

Wear Proper Accessories- If you leave space for cold air to get in, all your warm clothes together can not save you from cold. So, you have to cover yourself from head to toe. For this, proper winter accessories should be worn such as hats, scarves, mittens and socks to keep your ears, neck, hands and feet guarded from chilled air. Hats, in fact, work by not letting your body heat go out through ears. In place of mittens, you can even wear gloves but when going out in snow, mittens prove to be more warmer.

All the above tips, if kept in mind while selecting men’s winter clothing, would definitely keep you warm and comfortable.
